Look infront of the Kogalla Village Hotel - walk straight through the main reception or there is one main local's access to the lhs - currently another large hotel is being built on the point!!
Great reffy left - holds up even in medium cross-onshore conditions. There is also a very powerful beahbreak - right, but very short, powerful and punchy for Sri Lanka!

Atmosphere
Great spot, a few locals who are soooooo friendly. No competitivelness in the water and sharing waves the norm. Turtles - but beware of a white tip reef shark about 6 foot long - very inquisitive of the white man!
General
Great place to waste away two weeks surfing waves by yourself with no ther beginners throwing their boards all over the place as opposed to other more well known spots such as Mitigama!!

I agree re sharks but one was there!See photo 2 Midigama lefts to prove I have surfed the place. Midigama lefts when small is weak and full of beginners. I didn't mention the right, which I agree with you, can be a very shallow blaster. Hope never to surf with you...and I am from Gower, not 'old China' you cupcake! Sharks?
Suprised that the reviewer has mentioned sharks here in Sri Lanka on the South/West coast... dont know of a local surfer here yet who has ever spotted a shark... that's the way i'd like to keep it too... what we dont know wont hurt us...

love the way this guy cant spell midigama, kinda says to me hes not been there, and the wave out front at rams is far from a beginers wave me ol china cupcake, this place is ok on its day but loads better places to go
