First real summerday since Bundaberg. Afternoon session, many surfers out.
It was not easy to catch a wave, since they wre breaking sometimes here sometimes there. After all, Byron Bay was a bit too busy for us so we decided to go further south.&nbs More...

The wreck can be a pretty decent surf spot, but only when its pumping. Main beach tends to draw in back packers who have just scored themselves a board and walk to the beach thinking they can paddle out anywhere. Consequently it can get pretty packed and tempers can flare up real quick. The Pass is the same, super nice break (when there's swell)but generally too busy on a weekend. In my opinion tallows/broken head (Cape Byron headland) is a great surf spot, it can get pretty gnarley and it's definately not for beginners, so at least there arn't any back packers cramming the line up. If your'e prepared for a little drive then Lennox heads is definately the way forward. Some awsome breaks (and cool locals)
